What is a counselling session?
Sessions take place in my home in Boscombe Manor, in Bournemouth, in a room situated in a quiet location. There is parking available, more during the day than evening.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and usually take place once a week, or as often as you feel necessary...it's your therapy.
The first session will be about finding out why your journey has led you to seek counselling. In this session, we will discuss and agree our contract and some personal details will be taken. If, after this initial meeting, you decide that I am not the right person to help you, then we can discuss this and I will offer to refer you to someone else.
Counselling can be short or long term and can be ended at any time, depending on your needs.
Counselling offers you the time and space to explore any difficulties you are having in your personal life, with someone who is trained neither to judge nor advise you, but to explore and help unlock feelings which may have been hidden for years. Past and present relationships will be talked about, including ours.It can be upsetting, however, it will help you understand more about yourself. From this, you may feel less conflicted and make positive changes in your life, or come to terms with things that can't be changed. Counselling doesn't take away the pain...but it will help you find your own way of coping with it.
I am a qualified supervisor. I offer individual supervision. Please contact me for more information.
