My approach.

I am a humanistic counsellor and supervisor, based in Boscombe Manor in Bournemouth. My primary training is in the Person-Centred approach. I also have considerable experience in Gestalt therapy. Both these approaches focus on relationships and feelings, helping in my clients personal growth and the realisation that they can make decisions for themselves.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (B.A.C.P.)   I adhere to their ethical framework for good practice. I have a Diploma in Counselling from Middlesex University. I have achieved the B.A.C.P. Certificate of Proficiency. I hold a post graduate certificate in Clinical Supervision. My background is in management. I also attend courses as part of my C.P.D. in subjects which include addictions, art therapy and relationships. My practice is supervised. I hold an advanced D.B.S. ( Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.

My Experience.

I have worked with a wide range of, women, families and parents of people with learning difficulties. In addition to my private practice, I have created and managed a counselling service, for people with learning difficulties, in an educational setting. In this service, I worked with people struggling with conditions such as A.D.H.D, Autism, Down's syndrome and Williams syndrome, some of the issues around these conditions were relationship difficulties, exclusion and safeguarding. I was an associate of The Albany Centre in St.Albans for many years.
